BS 7412
BS 7412:2007 specifies requirements for the design, fabrication and performance of windows and glazed door sets made from PVC-U extruded hollow profiles. It applies to windows and door sets manufactured from PVC-U hollow profiles incorporating fusion welded corner joints. This standard is a prequisite for BS7950 and PAS23/24.
BS 7950
BS 7950:1997 specifies test methods and acceptance criteria applicable to domestic casement, top swing, vertical sliding and tilt/turn windows which provide enhanced security against forced entry. It does not purport to provide a means of assessing total security against unauthorised entry and is a prequisite for "Secured by Design". BS 7950 is applicable to new windows as manufactured and prior to installation.
BS: PAS 23-1
BS PAS 23-1: 1999 General performance and weather testing requirements for door assemblies. Part 1 single leaf, external door assemblies (including all material relevant annexes). A performance standard for door sets, which certifies that a particular door set, is fit for purpose. The security rating is not sufficient for police/insurance purposes and products must also have PAS24.

BS PAS 24-1: 2007/2009 Enhanced security performance requirements for door assemblies. Part 1 single leaf, external door assemblies. An attack test standard for door sets which certifies that a particular door, frame, lock and hardware set has withstood a series of physical test based on common methods of burglary. This is the minimum police requirement for "secured by Design" dwellings.
